Navarre Beach, Florida

Our family visited Navarre Beach in April for the first time, and we were blown away by how beautiful it was! On one side is the stunning Gulf of Mexico, and on the other side is the peaceful Santa Rosa Sound. My husband and I love the ocean, but our children much preferred the Sound. This was fortunate, since many of our days here were red flag days for the ocean! Even on those days, the Sound was nice and flat, easy to explore the water and play. The kids spent hours playing in the sand, floating on boogie boards, and trying to catch creatures!

Navarre is a more “laid back” town than other gulf destinations (Destin, Panama City, etc), and it was just what our family needed for a fun trip. There were a few cute things to do, including a sweet playground right on the Sound (with a splash pad – only open in summer), a sea turtle conservation center, and water sports.

Great news for campers, there are many many RV parks to choose from in the area! We visited FIVE parks (four on the Sound, one further inland). There is something for everyone! Here are our thoughts on each one:

Navarre Beach Camping Resort

  • Location: 9201 Navarre Pkwy, Navarre, FL 32566 (9 min to Gulf)
  • Price: anywhere from $105-$152 per night depending on location
  • Sites: Full hookup RV sites, cabins available
  • Amenities: Pool, laundry, beach area on the Sound

This is a very well kept RV resort overlooking the Santa Rosa Sound. There is a little beach area on the sound, but as you can see from the photo below, there is a little drop-off to get to the water. My kids didn’t love this, but this resort has a nice pool and playground to enjoy. This one is a 9 minute drive to the Gulf.

We’d give this one a solid 7/10!

Emerald Beach RV Park

  • Location: 8885 Navarre Pkwy, Navarre, FL 32566 (5 min to Gulf)

  • Amenities: Pool, laundry, beach area on the Sound

This is a very nice RV resort with paved sites, a small but clean pool, and a lovely beach area that does have access to a little shore area to play in! The Gulf is only a 5 minute drive over the bridge, so it’s a great location.

This one gets an 8/10 from us!

The Hideaway Camping Retreat

  • Price: $105 per night

This RV park was the most rustic and natural park that we visited. It is a beautifully wooded park (the only one that we visited that had trees like this) with a very nice beach. There is no pool and the amenities looked, again, rustic… but this was by far the place that my children kept asking to return to. They LOVED the simple beach at this one. They had a happy afternoon splashing around in the Sound. This was a quiet and simple place, and it would definitely be in our top two choices for Navarre. It’s only a 10 minute drive to the Gulf from this one.

We’d rate this one an 8.5/10!

Santa Rosa RV Resort

  • Location: 8315 Navarre Pkwy, Navarre, FL 32566 (6 min to Gulf)
  • Price: $105-$195 per night depending on location
  • Sites: Full hookup RV sites
  • Amenities: Heated pool, laundry, beach area on the Sound, playground, Watersport rentals
  • Website: santarosarvresort.com
  • Reservations: website

This one was the bougiest of the Sound side RV resort options we saw. It is paved and well manicured, and has a nice pool, clean beach area, and Watersport rentals. When not feeling the rustic vibe, this is definitely the kind of place our family likes to stay for all of the fun activities. This goes in the top two for Sound side Navarre parks for us!

This one gets an 8.5/10 for our family as well!

Splash RV Park

  • Location: 8500 Welcome Church Rd, Milton, FL 32583 (27 min to Gulf)
  • Price: $64-$80 per night for RV sites depending on location
  • Sites: Full hookup RV sites, luxury cottages, and clamping wagons
  • Amenities: Heated pools, lazy river, water slides, pickleball, basketball, arcade, food trucks, beer garden, golf cart rentals, gaga ball court

Now THIS is what we’re talking about! My family LOVES an RV park with all the bells and whistles. When you’re not in the mood for rustic, and more in the mood for a resort feel, this place has it all. This gave us Carolina Pines vibes (our favorite fancy RV park near Myrtle Beach, SC) with all of the amenities, but also with the fact that it’s a good 30 min drive to the beach. My kids had an absolute blast enjoying the water slides, lazy river, and pools. My daughters hopped in the gaga ball court and taught the boys a thing or two! They LOVE an arcade, and the food trucks and beer garden were conveniently located next to the pool. When we were there the service was rather slow, but that’s really the only ding on the overall experience. I’d highly recommend if your family is looking for a fun destination. You could spend several days having fun at the resort, and head over to the beach for a couple day trips as well.

We’re gonna call this a 9/10, just gets a point off for being further from the beach!

While you’re there, make sure to get some seafood from the Navarre Seafood Market and pick up a Key Lime pie while you’re at it – to die for!!

Hopefully this helps you get an idea of what Navarre Beach has to offer. We loved it and can’t wait to return!

Happy Camping!!
