I booked our stay at Carolina Pines after seeing a friend post about her family’s trip there – it looked so fun and it truly did not disappoint! If you’re into RV camping but also want a resort style experience near the beach, Carolina Pines is the perfect getaway for your family. Between the water park, pools, arcade, playground, daily activities, and beach club access, there was always something fun for every member of our family to enjoy!
Needless to say, my children LOVED the big pool (with a nice zero entry area for the littles) complete with a splash pad area and of course the big water park! The water park opened at 11 each day and has water slides and water squirters galore. The big bucket up top filled and dumped frequently which was always a hit for everyone! The pool also features cabanas that can be rented that include a TV as well as a refrigerator and private seating. Right next to the pool is a snack bar where we ordered lunch most days, and right outside the gate is a camper converted into a bar. My kids were happy playing in this area for hours and hours!
We did have some rain a couple of days, and this was a great time to check out the indoor pool. Another highlight of the stay was the arcade. There is a machine to load money onto a card, and there were games that each of my children enjoyed. Right next door is the mini bowling alley, which is the only other activity that costs extra to do. We also all loved playing their mini golf course, located next to the water park, and it was complimentary to play!
A true treat was having on site dining options, so I never had to cook while we were on this trip. There is a restaurant with dine in seating, as well as options to walk up and order burgers or pizza to go. At the time we went, there was also poolside breakfast served each morning.
Another amenity we loved at Carolina Pines was the very nice playground. On a cloudier day my children played here for several hours and it was a nice change of pace! We also checked out the sports activity area, complete with an open field, sports courts, cornhole, and pickle ball. There is also an activities calendar full of activities for kids, adults, as well as live music and theme events. So much to do!
We were having so much fun, we ended up extending our stay for a few more days, which meant I needed to do a little bit of laundry! The laundry facility (several throughout the resort) was very nice and clean. The one I used was next to a jumping pillow that I was too nervous to show my children, lol.
Also very notable are the dozens of adorable little cottages available to rent throughout the resort! Great idea for anyone that wants to bring their camper, but maybe wants to vacation with a family member or friend that does not own a camper.
Last but CERTAINLY not least was the Carolina Pines Beach Club. It is about 20 minutes to Myrtle Beach, and while Carolina Pines offers a free shuttle, we preferred driving our own car. Guests cannot park at the Beach Club, but public parking was easy to find a short walk down the street and inexpensive. The Beach Club has a bathroom and a nice pool area, and a boardwalk out to a beautiful beach. We went over to the Beach Club twice to enjoy a nice day at the beach.
All in all, Carolina Pines goes on my list of very favorite places we’ve stayed. There was something for everyone, the comforts of resort living mixed with the fun of a beach vacation. We will definitely be back next year!
